About Pares Retiro Restaurant
Pares Retiro opened its first branch in Cubao, Quezon City in 2007 serving their signature Pares dishes. Since then its menu has expanded, as has its locations and Pares Retiro now has three branches in Quezon City. As well as the original branch, you can order your south-east Asian cuisine from Visayas Avenue and Tomas Morato Avenue.
What is Pares?
Pares is typically Filipino and literally means 'pair'. Beef stew and a bowl of soup are served together and eaten with rice. The rich stew is made from beef cutlets cooked with sweet soy sauce, anise and spring onions. The soup is a blend of cooking sauce and beef stock. This hearty dish provides a welcoming meal for either lunch or dinner.
What else is on the Pares Retiro menu?
Highlights of Pares Retiro are typically south-east Asian dishes such as Pancit, Kare-Kare and Sizzling Sisig followed by tempting desserts that include Turon de Leche.
- Pancit: are thin rice noodles fried with soy sauce and lemon juice then served with toppings such as sliced meat or chopped vegetables.
- Kare-Kare: is a thick stew made of oxtail, pork hock, offal or beef flavoured with peanut sauce. It's hearty enough to satisfy every hunger craving.
- Sizzling Sisig: is traditionally made with grilled pork, flaked fish or chicken. Onions and chilli peppers are tossed into the spicy cooking sauce.
- Turon: are typical Filipino desserts made of thinly sliced bananas and jackfruit which are dusted in brown sugar, wrapped in filo pastry and fried. Delicious!
