Ingredients

  • 15ml of canola oil
  • 1 onion, sliced thinly
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 230g of shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 15ml of fish sauce
  • 1 carrot, cut into thin pieces
  • 12 green beans, ends trimmed and cut into thin pieces
  • 455g of bean sprouts
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Directions

  • Heat the oil in a large wok over high heat, add the sliced onions and minced garlic. Cook until softened.
  • Add the shrimp,and stir for 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Add the fish sauce and cook for 1 minute.
  • Add the carrots and green beans, and stir for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Add the bean sprouts, and stir for 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Lastly, season with salt and pepper to taste.

Substitutes

This touge recipe calls for shrimp, but you’re free to replace it with other meats or tofu as a vegetarian alternative. Furthermore, you can substitute the fish sauce with regular oyster sauce or mushroom oyster sauce for a sweet and salty taste.
