Authentic Filipino beef broth
To enhance the flavours of our pares recipe, why not try making your own homemade beef broth? Although time-consuming, it gives your dish a texture and taste that the beef stock cube cannot replicate. Here's what you need to do:
Boil 3l of water and add 1 chopped onion, 3 chopped garlic cloves and 1kg beef shank. Season with salt and pepper.
Boil the broth on low heat for 2 hours. Remove the scum that appears at the top to keep the stock clear.
After 2 hours, taste again and add more salt if necessary.
