You can never go wrong with serving hotcakes in the morning for breakfast. They’re soft, fluffy, and commonly eaten with sweet condiments that’ll give you the sugar rush you need to kickstart your day. This hotcakes recipe is simple and quick to make. All you’ll need are a few ingredients right out of your pantry and only 20 minutes of your time.

Ingredients

  • 120g of all-purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp of salt
  • 1 tsp of baking powder
  • 60g of sugar
  • 250ml of milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp of vegetable oil
  • 60g of butter

  • 1 non-stick pan

Hotcakes Recipe

Directions

  • Combine flour, salt, baking powder, and 50 grams of sugar in a bowl. Mix until well incorporated.
  • Create a well in the centre and add milk, egg, and 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Mix until well combined, and it forms a liquidy batter.
  • Grease a non-stick pan with vegetable oil over medium heat.
  • Scoop approximately 55 grams of the batter into the pan. Cook until it begins to bubble, then flip and continue cooking for another 2 minutes.
  • Remove from the pan and repeat with the rest of the batter.
  • Slather butter over the hotcakes and sprinkle the remaining sugar over the top. Serve immediately.
