Ingredients
15ml of canola oil
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cloves of garlic, minced
900g of ground pork
15ml of fish sauce
3 large tomatoes, chopped
355ml of water
2 potatoes, chopped
2 carrots, cut into cubes
73g of raisins
½ a green bell pepper, seeded and cut into cubes
½ a red bell pepper, seeded and cut into cubes
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste

Directions
Pour the oil into the frying pan and heat it over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and minced garlic and cook until they soften.
Next, add the ground pork to the frying pan and break it into small pieces. Cook until lightly browned and remove any excess oil.
Add the fish sauce and cook for 1 to 2 minutes.
Add the chopped tomatoes, let them cook and mash them with the back of a spoon. Continue to cook until the tomatoes soften and release their juice.
Next, add water into the frying pan and bring it to a boil.
Reduce the heat, cover the pan with its lid, and simmer until the meat is cooked and tender.
Add the potatoes, carrots, and raisins. Continue cooking until the liquid is almost entirely reduced. The vegetables and raisins should have softened by now.
Lastly, add the cubed bell peppers and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Tips for the Best Giniling
Add a tablespoon or two of tomato paste if you would like to make your Giniling saucier.
Feel free to add extra ingredients! For instance, you can add bits of pineapple and hardboiled quail eggs. Also, remember to cut your potatoes and carrots into identical sizes to ensure they all cook evenly.
