Our embutido recipe is a visually appealing dish you can make to impress your guests. Embutido is Filipino meatloaf with ground pork, sausages and hard-boiled eggs. This unique dish is best enjoyed with steamed rice or mashed potatoes.

Ingredients
500g ground pork
2 raw eggs
30g flour
110g breadcrumbs
1 carrot, diced
1 onion, diced
1 green bell pepper, diced
80g sweet pickle relish
3 tbsp tomato sauce
100g raisins
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
3 hotdogs
2 hard-boiled eggs, each cut into four
1 tbsp canola oil
Equipment
1 large bowl
Aluminium foil
1 frying pan
Directions
Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl with your hands, except for the hotdogs and eggs. Set aside.
Prepare 2 pieces of aluminium foil, each about 30cm long. Place and flatten the meat mixture on the foil. Leave some space at the ends, about 5cm on each side.
Place the sausages and hard-boiled eggs in the middle of the flattened meat.
Roll the foil away from your body to form a log, with the sausage and egg in the middle. Twist the ends of the foil to prevent the meat from spilling.
Steam for an hour.

Heat oil in the frying pan and add the embutido. Turn occasionally until all sides are lightly brown. Set aside for 5 minutes before slicing.
Serve hot.
